Description: Replacement Truck Screws for Walthers’ passenger car Trucks. MISCELLANEOUS Railroad Company S4TP06SB The package contains 6 Blackened Stainless Steel Screws. These screws are 3/8ths of an inch long and are intended to replace the screw and washer combination used on Walthers’ passenger cars. These are the same screws used in out ‘TA’ kits. These are machine screws and the holes need to be threaded #4-40. PLEASE NOTE: When threading holes in plastics such as polystyrene, or ABS, tap as much of the hole as necessary to insure that the screw goes in straight, but the bottom of the hole is not 100% tapped. Stop tapping before the full-size treads of the tap exit the back side. It is desirable for the screw to bind somewhat in the bottom of the hole so that it cannot come loose. If the hole is tapped 100% you risk the wobbling of the screw that will cause it to back-out. If you feel that the screws might interfere with something inside the car, our ‘N’ truck screw [ S4TP04SB ] could be used. It is only 1/4 inch long.
