Description: This listing is for one rebuilt and fully tested Silicon Graphics Inc (SGI) Octane (and Octane2 compatible) lightbar. This lighting attachment is standard on all SGI Octane-based systems and has both a main lighting element that use a pair of miniature incandescent bulbs and an single red LED to signal error states. Since the Octane-line of systems is now decades old many of the main lighting elements have long burnt out. These bulbs were only designed to last several years of continuous use. Whenever the station is powered on the bulbs are lit and they light up the main, frosted, horizontal plastic accent across the bottom of the front door threshold (see photo). Many people have since installed LEDs to replace the old bulbs as they fail from age/use. However those replacement LEDs never mimicked the color and light coverage (spread) the same way the original bulbs did. Some owners also choose to change the LED colors to suit their own interests. But today you get the rare opportunity to buy a lightbar that has been opened up and had it's old bulbs replaced with new incandescent bulbs from old stock sources. Each lightbar is then tested for both luminance and power draw and the red LED is tested for functionality (not shown in the pictures). Since these bulbs are unused (new) they have should last almost 3 years of continuous use (estimated lifespan by the bulb manufacturer) left in them. These are not LEDs, they are real light bulbs. They are the same bulb-type as the original bulbs in dimension, power draw, and approximate luminance. These bulbs have not been produced since the early 2000's and are in fact no longer produced anywhere. I have secured a very finite number of these bulbs expressly for rebuilding Octane lightbars and offering them to collectors who'd like to restore their vintage SGI stations to OEM appearance. This is a rare opportunity see the system as the first owner did, right out of the box, light up with the same lighting technology and color it did when it was new. This has never been offered before, these bulbs are in such small quantities that I can only rebuild a handful of lightbars before the bulb stock is gone (used up).
