RARE - Tradescantia chrysophylla 'Baby Bunny Bellies' starter plant

Description: Tradescantia Chrysophylla is also called Speedy Jenny, 'Baby Bunny Bellies' or Wandering Jew 'Baby Bunny Bellies.' This plant is both visually beautiful and amazing to touch. Its leaves are slightly shiny and covered in such fine hairs that it feels like velvet. The tops of the leaves are green, but get variegated with purple in strong light. The undersides are an almost iridescent purple. (See photos, including some super close-ups.) Like other members of this family, as it grows, the lowest leaves will get brown and dry out. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the plant. Just propagate new cuttings or buy more from me :) Tradescantia is non-toxic (and actually used in a medicinal tea in Mexico!) but if it's cut, the sap can irritate some people's skin. Use gloves or wash your hands quickly if this happens to you. This plant looks great in a hanging basket, or trailing over the edge of a shelf. It can be grown in shade outdoors, but is not frost hardy. Potted plants will have at least two well-rooted plants per pot. Cuttings are generously cut and can easily be rooted in water or in slightly moist potting soil in about two weeks. No additional shipping fee for buying multiples, so feel free to buy several if you want to fill up a bigger pot quickly! I'm also happy to combine shipping if you're interested in more than one of the plant varieties I have on offer. Buy the ones you want, but "request invoice" before paying and I'll sort out the shipping to match what's actually required for the weight of your combined purchases. If you're worried about extreme temperatures in transit, consider the priority shipping. If temperatures are mild, the first class shipping is typically fairly quick to most parts of the US from where I am near a major postal hub in Colorado. I pack plants with care and ship within an hour or so of packing them. (Note that I often print the mailing labels a day or two of actually shipping orders. That helps me queue them up and lets you know your order is in progress. eBay will tell you it's shipped, but that really means that your label is printed.) I take them directly to my climate-controlled post-office (no waiting in a mailbox!) I highly recommend that you subscribe to updates on your package through the USPS (https://tools.usps.com) so that you can pick it up right away when it's delivered. If something terrible happens to your plant in transit, please be in touch and send a photo within 24 hours of receiving your plant.
