Does not come with Bookmark :) This book is a myriad of authentic recipes from around the world & throughout time with one thing in common Blood! 2 threads have woven themselves throughout cultures at one time or another the belief in vampires and cooking with blood. Here they meet and entwine in a blood curdling delight for the curious. A book that you will pick up time and time again for Blood recipes & obscure vampire lore. As the title suggests, this is indeed a collection of recipes that necessitate the use of blood. These are real recipes from Finland to Samoa, China to Africa—the reader can probably find one of Great-Great Grandma’s recipes in here. Some are short and succinct, such as the Blood Breakfast Cakes from Scotland, “Thicken cow’s blood with fine oatmeal and season to taste. Shape into patties and fry.“ Or a slight variation from Indonesia, Pudding Cakes, “Mix blood and cooked rice, season to taste. Form into patties and bake.” Others, especially those from France, are much more involved. Over 60 authentic recipes are interspersed with folklore and a short history of blood consumption. The only problem might be finding the blood to cook with! It is definitely a Strange and Unusual Cook Book, it relates the history of blood cooking with nutritional and safe cooking procedures, as well as where you can buy blood. The book is divided into breakfast, lunch, between meal snacks, main dishes and desserts. Some of the recipes include blood pancakes from Finland, meat stew from Ghana and turtle from the Ozarks. The authors even included three real bat recipes in an appendix just because they could not resist. These recipes are actual authentic recipes from centuries ago. Very interesting cooking facts within the pages, also how they never let anything go to waste including the blood. Alot of the ingredients may not be available. Blood recipes are probably not on your list of ingredients to try. It has some folk lore in amongst the pages. If you are squeemish about blood, this book is probably not for you :) TAGS:vampyre, macabre, gothic, vampire, rare book, collectors edition, vintage book, cooking, kitchen, early edition, signed autographed, signed edition, cooking with blood, blood recipes, wiccan, witch, strange book, collectors book, weird cookbook, Halloween cookbook, Halloween decor, movie prop, dark arts, blood cooking, rare cookbook, drink recipes, blood recipes, strange housewarming gift, white elephant gift, gothic gift idea, gothic cookbook, recipe cards, Victorian recipes, old world receipts, cooking receipts, witches cookbook, kitchen decor, spooky season, recipe book, junk journal pages, dark cottagecore, dark aesthetic, baking recipes, Victorian cooking, antique cooking receipts, recipe receipts, halloween decor, goth themed, dark wedding gift, wedding party, coffee table book, unique item, old world recipes, halloween party decor, unusual food recipes, unusual food receipts, inscribed book, rare cookbook, rare recipes, weird recipes, junk journal ephemera, interesting ephemera, wall art,
