Description: 6pins commemorating American airplanes supplied to Russia during WW2 in accordance with Lend-Lease agreement. P-39 Aeroсobra, P-63 Kingcobra,C-47 “Douglas”,B-25 Mitchel and A-20 “Boston” aircraft (Boston and Douglas were Russian designations). The writing along the edge is “Bridge of Friendship USSR-USA. Lend-Lease, 1942-1945. Delivery of Airplanes. Alaska – Siberia”. USA supplied enormous amounts of weapons and raw materials to Russia during WW2, mostly via Baltic Sea route but also from the south via Iran and from the Far East via Alaska and Bering Strait. The deliveries of airplanes involved both American and Soviet pilots, so it is quite likely these pins were intended as memento and token of appreciation for both US and Russian participants of those flights. The badges are in aluminum and paint, measuring 37 mm x 27 mm. Very nicely executed details of the airplanes. Cyrillic maker mark “EKTP” to the reverse. All pins are in excellent condition.
