Description: Rare lighograh of Pennsylvania artist Rhonda Libbey's "The Prisoner," new in shrink wrap, matted and signed by the artist. This is a very unusual example of Libbey's illustrations -- she ordinarily produces stylized, whimsical fantasy art. Veteran suicides is obviously a social issue that Libbey felt compelled to address. The painting depicts a traumatized, grief-stricken elderly man in rural attire drinking liquor, a folded newspaper beside him on the bar with the headline: "Suicide Epidemic Among Veterans." On the wall behind him hangs a "POW-MIA" clock. The subject of this piece is an emotional prisoner of war. Indirect sunlight pours through a front window, \the presumptive vet is drinking before noon. The image is 14.75 X 11" (mat size: 16" X 20"), sealed with Libbey's business card inserted inside the shrink wrap. It is signed on the (black, symbolic) mat, lower right corner, and the the illustration's title is hand-written bottom left.
