Description: Listed here a pair of bright red ankle ties used with Chinese bound feet shoes. While sometimes separate cuffs were used to cover the ankle and bindings these decorative ties were also used. The cotton or linen binding cloths were generally very drab , black, blue or white and colorful ties would disguise their appearance . This pair measures 4 inches wide and approximately 47 inches long including the fringe at the end. The fringe could use some careful untangling if desired, but I left it as found. They are in very good condition probably never used. This type of tie is rarely seen - I haven’t seen any examples since the last authentic bound feet shoes and accessories came from China in the 1990’s . A good item for collectors.
