Description: Rare Miniature Sabbath/Shabbat Lamp A two tier fountain shape, skilfully hand crafted in repoussé sheet silver. The deep upper oil reservoir with five spouts for wicks. The lower drip pan has a beautifullyrealized hammered relief pattern of sprays and inverted hearts.Both are raised on a conical base with further bands of fine repoussé decoration. The lamp is crested by a decoratively shaped fretted finial hanging loop. Difficult to date, though it definitely has some age and was very tarnished. The lamp is unmarked, so can only be sold as white metalIt does test as solid silver rather than plate, however. Lovely condition. Bright, with no splits, dents, holes or repairs.
