Description: (F5) A very stately souvenir tribute to the iconic Notre Dame coach. This multi-purpose tray is expertly detailed to replicate the famous stadium in South Bend. Then, as a colossal guardian, there stands at the back perimeter a full-body image of Knute Rockne. The piece, which appears to be lacquered bronze, is approximately six inches long and the pate of Rocknes likeness is about five inches high. Its exact vintage is unknown, but an identifying plate is riveted to the front which recalls Grantland Rices famous quote (first printed in 1941): For when the one great Scorer comes to write against your name, He writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the game. This is a more rare hard to find piece, please review all photos as they best describes the item as well as its Condition visually, there is some minor wear and imperfections such as age spots/patina slight discoloration and rusting. But overall this vintage piece is well preserved. The bottom is stamped MFG. BY D. GOTTLIER & CO CHICAGO ILL PATENT PENDING.
