Description: This is the late version of the f2.7 Tessar with the cemented doublet in the front (inverted). This second version of the f2.7 is quite difficult to find, not many of these were made and it was an evolution of the previous design (typical Tessar), a complete new design by W. Merte. The samples provided on the listing were made using a Speedgraphic 4x5" style camera (Beseler C-6) and a Mentor reflex 6x9 (last two samples with no Petzval flavour). It fully cover the 4x5" format (with no movements) and create a petzval style picture with a very good and sharp center and an unexpected very good contrast for a non coated pre war lens. Take your chance, not many of these (late version) were made and is not easy find a late 20's lens optically in so good shape, rendering as good as when it was brand new.
