Description: Antique Converted Gas Table Lamp w/ Early Handel Shade (rather rare). Electrified. Comes with a 12" mushroom-shaped open top glass shade, decorated on the exterior with stylized flowers, vines and leaves that parallels shades shown in Hibel's The Handel Lamps Book, pg. 7 - 9.) Brass base by Bradley & Hubbard or Pittsburgh. According to Hibel, shades (such as this one) were offered on bases manufactured by Miller, B&H and others or retrofit to any base the customer might provide. Unmarked. Approx. 27" tall with 12"-wide shade (10" ring). Excellent condition: Glass intact with excellent vibrant color, undamaged base with patina commensurate with age.
