Description: This crewel embroidery is an American bicentennial commemoration that depicts the rides of Paul Revere and William Dawes through the countryside from Boston to Sudbury, Concord, and Lexington to warn of the coming of British troops. It was designed by Catherine Hedlund, and embroidering was completed in July 1975 by the ladies of the Wayside Inn Needlework Guild. The 36-by-52-inch embroidery was given by the Ladies Committee of the Wayside Inn to the Wayside Inn where it has been placed on permanent display.
