Description: From the estate of a renowned Prague family:A vintage Art Krupp Berndorf silver-plated (Alpacca-Silber I) serpentine-edged gravy boat with removable stand, two spouts, and two handles. The gravy pitcher itself is a very RARE piece that dates from 1880–1887. The stand dates from 1891–1927. (See details below.) Measurements: 10" long5" high (to top of handles) Weight: 2 lb., 2.4 oz. Condition: Little wear for items of this age. Some scratches on underside of base. (See photo #7.) Silver marks: The maker's silver mark (approx. 3.7mm diameter) appears on the bottom rim of the gravy boat (visible in photos #2 and 9). This is a very RARE mark, indicating that the item was manufactured in Austria between 1880–1887. The number 4 appears to the right of the mark. Another, later, maker's mark (approx. 3.7mm diameter) appears on the underside of the base, indicating the base was manufactured in Austria between 1891–1927. The number 297 appears below the mark.
