Description: Rare Antique Sandwich Glass Cup Plate, LR 38, Thick Flint Glass, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., c. 1828 - 1835. This rare Sandwich Glass cup plate is Lee - Rose 38 and it was one of the earliest cup plates manufactured at the Sandwich Glass factory. This cup plate has an attractive petal and stippled diamond design in the center with sheafs of wheat around the perimeter and a scalloped rim. This is just the second time I have offered this cup plate for sale in more than 25 years! This thick early flint glass cup plate is offered here with a Buy It Now. SIZE: The cup plate is 1/2" H. x 3 1/4" Dia.. CONDITION: The condition is good with either an underfill or a polishing to two scallops on the rim with some nicks and roughness to the rim. There are the usual imperfections found in early flint glass such as sand, bubbles, inclusions and striations.
