Description: RARE Antique Art Nouveau Victorian Postcard Album & Postcards. Offered for sale is this stunningly beautiful antique, Victorian postcard album with a beautiful Art Nouveau design featuring purple and orange petunias and completely full of used, postmarked postcards from the late 1800s to early 1900s. This album is quite impressive and took years to complete as the postcards are postmarked over the course of years (from 1903-1910). The postcards are simply beautiful, each one an historical work of art and the collection represents every major holiday observed in that period with cute sayings, heartfelt sentiments and all created in the Victorian/Edwardian Eras. The postcards were carefully placed in the album and it’s quite obvious that assembling this exceptional collection was a labour of love. The album consists of front and back covers, 25 leaves, and contains 132 postcards (each page holds 2 or 4 postcards). This album and the postcards it holds are in very fine, previously owned, antique condition with no loose leaves, no spine damage, rips or other issues. The pages in the photographs are not the complete collection. Please note: Not all (or even most) postcards were removed and inspected. Only a sample of approximately 10-15 postcards were removed for inspection to verify/authenticate the age of this collection as handling was strictly limited to avoid unnecessary wear/damage to the pieces. There may be older, younger, unused or one or more without a postmark, postcards included, although each postcard that was examined had been sent to the same recipient through the USPS.
