Description: Rare 14ct Huber WWI Trench Watch -Manual Wind Circa 1915 - Fully Serviced From the 1st world war era comes this very rare 14ct Huber cushion case, fixed lugs, manual wind wristwatch. I recently saved it from being melted. It has just been returned after being serviced by my watchmaker. The firm was originally founded by Andreas Huber in the late 19th century with a shop in Munich. Between 1913 and 1920 Huber stores were opened in Berlin, Dsseldorf and Nuremberg by Joseph Huber. Case: *14ct yellow gold (approximately 29mm in diameter). In general in nice clean condition. I've given the case a sympathetic polish and the front and read case covers snap shut tightly with no gaps. There are a few small dinks on the rear case and a couple of scratches and small dink on the front left hand side, which I left alone to maintain a level of authenticity. Fully hallmarked rear inner case (see last image). Movement: o Mechanical Swiss manual wind - 15 jewels-serviced by the watchmaker, new mainspring and crystal, case polish and a 1950's NOS leather strap in August 2024. It keeps really nice time for a watch pushing 110 years old. Dial & Hands: oChampagne color because of natural aging. Beautiful cathedral style hands and great to see the radium preserved with no breakthrough holes. Lovely 24 hour timing markers beyond the outer chapter ring, denoting it's military usage.
