AND IF YOU ARE A FAN OF THE BEST OF EARLY ROCK FROM A NATIONALLY KNOWN DJ WITH PERHAPS THE LARGEST KNOWN ARTIST INTERVIEW COLLECTION IN THE WORLD, THIS IS THE SHOW FOR YOU GODDARD'S GOLD SO HERE ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS: WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW? WHY COLLECT THEM? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. First allow me tell you my own personal story of discovering the wonder of radio shows. I discovered radio shows quite by accident while reading one of my favorite (long since departed) magazines called "Discoveries" (It was later bought by the same company that publishes "Goldmine" which I personally always considered a lesser publication, but that is another story. This was before ebay became the driving force in radio show sales (and everything else) in the later 1990's. I was especially attracted in "Discoveries" to a two page (or more) spread in each issue by a guy called "The Old Hippie". Let me tell you, the Old Hippie had it all. He was a real pioneer. Way before anyone knew what radio shows even were let alone that they could be bought as rarities, he had the market cornered. Most shows that he advertised were way beyond my budget but I drooled over those pages every issue and once in awhile I could afford one or two. Now, I have attempted in my own humble way to take on the mantle of "The Old Hippie". I have listed over 10,000 unique radio shows of all genres for you all to drool over, and most at prices, hopefully, that collectors can better afford! I want to make available to collectors what I could not afford and especially in these days of higher prices and lesser availability. Radio shows are harder and harder to find in quantity and the prices for the ones still out there just go higher and higher as they disappear from the market. However, because of my large presence on eBay, I am always being contacted with selling offers, some of which I take advantage of and some I have to pass on because of the prices. I have found that by buying in bulk, even when many or most of the shows are lesser known but still amazing shows, I can offer the best prices on all titles. So, again, what is a radio show? Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break. Many air on Saturday or Sunday evenings or during overnight segments. They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. People collect them for various reasons. Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all. Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation bought at Wal Mart or downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those. AND, these shows are in limited quantity. They were printed just for syndicated stations in the United States. Many have just a few still in circulation. Some of the more popular shows may have as many as a hundred of each week's show that survived but think about it. A hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be. And, many if not most stations just threw them away after the show aired because the content was dated by the commercials and could not be aired again so they were in that sense worthless and not worth the storage. So there are likely very very few of these great shows remaining. This being the case, they are increasingly hard to find and more and more expensive all the time. OK guys and gals, in this outing, A RARE TREAT!!!! A general manager friend has almost every one of Steve Goddard's super oldies weekly extravaganza "Goddard's Gold" that has ever been distributed. Now, there were several oldies shows featuring the 60's and 70's but Steve Goddard did it best. From the themes to the interviews, this show literally is the best. It takes the very best of other oldies shows and puts it all together. The interviews are unique and perhaps the best part of the show. They all come from Steve's segments from Steve's collection. AND, there are a lot of them. 15 or more on each show. They are not sound bites like on other shows but extended interview clips in length. THEN, each show has a unique theme and there are wonderful themes, each week a different one and unlike other oldies shows, these themes are extensive throughout the whole three hours. The interview segments are mostly related to the theme but there are also separate interview segments with other artists! Each show also had other features such as Rock N Roll Birthdays, Forgotten 45's and others. It is a truly unbelievable show. You really need this for your collection. I am proud to offer you an opportunity to have some of these rare shows for your own collection. You will especially love them if you are a fan of the 60's and 70's because the show always glorified that era, the heart and soul of the early rock era. So whatever your taste, just check out the theme and you will be happy. You will be amazed. If you are a fan of the show or of the featured group or genre , also know that every one of Steve's shows was unique and different. So, for example, if you like the Beatles and get a show featuring them, and see another show listed in a tribute to the Beatles, it will be completely different. And remember, each show had upwards of 45 great different songs on it along with all the interviews, commentary, history, and entertainment features! WestStar is distributing Steve's show only by digital download and CD's are no longer produced. YES there are NO MORE Steve Goddard shows to be had on CD. THESE ARE THE LAST. And YOU can have them. Imagine, the very last and they can be in your collection. It is Americana that few people can own both because of their rarity and because people just don't know about them. You will get the perfect show, THREE HOURS ON THREE BEAUTIFUL CD'S LOOKING LIKE THEY WERE JUST PRESSED in beautiful shape, AND FOR THESE SPECIAL FEW, WITH THEIR CUE SHEETS. Most of my Goddard's Gold show do not have their cue sheets which do not take away one iota from the value of the show but are nice to have. Just take a look at the cue sheets of these shows with their cue sheets to see the layout of the show and then you can go search out your favorite artists or topic from the ones without their cue sheets and at a lower price These shows are genuine collector's items that you will treasure and which will increase in value as all radio shows, especially the quality shows like Steve Goddard, completely disappear from the market place or become too expensive to afford. AND, Steve Goddard is one of the best shows out there. Remember, The show comes on 3 CDs, three hours, and in pristine condition. This show aired on JANUARY 23, 2010 and is show #10-04 This show featured A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES IN A TRIBUTE TO THEIR HITS FROM 1966 AND 1967. YOU WILL HEAR SO MANY SONGS IN THIS GREAT SPECIAL THREE HOUR TRIBUTE FROM THE FEATURED ARTISTS AND TONS MORE FROM THE GOLDEN AGE OF ROCK. THIS SUPER THEME AND WITH THE INTERVIEWS COME TO YOU AS ONLY STEVE CAN PRESENT TO YOU BECAUSE THEY ALL COME FROM HIS PERSONAL COLLECTION. YOU WILL BE ENTRANCED AND ENTHRALLED FOR THREE STRAIGHT HOURS. AND IT CAN ALL BE YOURS. The show was written by Steve Goddard himself, not just a staff employee from which Steve would read his or her written script, like many other oldies shows. It was digitally recorded in 32 bit digital audio, edited and mastered in WestStar's Studios C and E using 24 digital tracks on the Saw Studio Live/Samplitude Pro 7 Digital Audio System and Zotope Ozone. Please remember, this is the genuine original show that was sent to the radio station for airing. It is NOT an unauthorized copy but the Real McCoy!!! I personally guarantee that every radio show that I sell is the original show sent to stations. Stations could use the show anytime during the weekend date printed on the show and then any remaining ended up available to us all to enjoy. Many stations just tossed them since the show was dated due to the commercial content. Only some stations kept them. SO THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL HOW MANY OF EACH SHOW SURVIVED The show also comes with its original national commercials And if you don't like the national commercials (none of those boring local commercials are in the show; there were various places on the CD show where local commercials could be inserted and time left for them but you will not hear them, only the national commercials you will remember well), and, if you don't care for any commercials, just skip to the next track and rejoin Steve and all the great music immediately. Many of my buyers get my shows for the neat old commercials they collect. Remember that this and all the radio music shows that you see on eBay are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio and music history. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price. I am saving those shows I treasure the most and sharing the rest with you for very reasonable prices. It is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection. As always, for U.S. buyers, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy so the more you buy the more money you will save. For my international friends, I will again only charge shipping on the first show you purchase and all others ship for free. Good Luck and God Bless You.
