Description: Vintage PrintMaster Platinum for Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 A 6 CD Set Features 60,000 Graphic Images Includes National Geographic Photo Gallery addon companion software with 3,000 Photo Images This is vintage software requiring Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 and will not install or operate on newer computers. Sample images were not included with the pictures, because the clipart images on the PrintMaster CD Discs were compressed in a format that required installing PrintMaster for viewing, printing or exporting. Most of the National Geographic Photo Gallery images were compressed, but a few of the images on the disc were in jpg format. A sampling of those is included with the pictures. Note that the size for the pictures is 640 x 480 pixels. The size for the compressed images is not known, but 640 x 480 was the standard monitor resolution for the time period when this software was published. Interestingly, also from the same time period, the resolution for VHS recorded movies was only 320 x 240. Vintage computers usually had hard drives with much lower capacity than those today. Although the program must be installed and launched from the computer's hard drive, it seems that PrintMaster Platinum was designed to operate from the CD Discs. None of the Art Discs are installed, and the PrintMaster program will prompt the user to insert a CD Disc when required. Over the pocket for the Program CD on the inside of the CD Discs folder, it states, "Install me. And only me."
