Description: It's autumn here at the olde homestead and the sweet smell of pumpkin spice wafts through the air of many log cabins and other early dwellings this time of year as the leaves are turning colors for a wonderful showing of how beautiful change can be. The farmers are out in the fields harvesting their bountiful crops and preparing for the colder weather ahead. If you're like us it's one of your favorite seasons of the year so you must celebrate every moment of the crisper cooler air in which the evening crickets and frogs play a different tune knowing their music won't be heard again until next spring once the first frost hits but it's a lovely sound to hear amongst doing needed chores to be ready for the next few months of the winter holidays coming up also. Canning the last of the garden harvest and enjoying homemade apple cider or the delicacy of fresh apple butter on a warm biscuit right out of the oven is a treat to be savored on days like this. If you enjoy a life of simplicity you will adore these wonderful handmade jack o lanterns made from olde dried gourds that were originally grown in Buffalo Gap, Texas but they have made their way up north to be carved and painted in the neatest manner so they will last forever and bring you years of joy with their simple sweet little faces and each one even comes with a grubby pumpkin spice covered battery operated flickering light nestled amongst a nest of early dried flax tow so no fear of real fire from flaming candles causing any issues. We use our own hand blended buttermilk paint recipe and a very unique process to age the final finish that gives the patina an appearance of many years of natural aging in the elements. They are a dark bittersweet color on the outside and a black tar on the inside that is heavily dusted with real grubby pumpkin spice which we love the natural smell it brings to your home this time of year and bet you will too. Every one of these is different so please study the pics and know they are MUCH better in person than a modern electronic camera could ever portray to you. Each olde gourd dries differently and makes for a collectible one of a kind piece of folk art you will enjoy for many years to come and they are a must have for your olde log cabin or other primitive autumn decor. Also check out our other listings as we may have more to choose from listed right now also but you are buying the one you see listed in the pics and the other items are for display only or for comparison to the others we may have available right now. This one measures about 6 x 5 inches and is perfect to sit on a mantle among your other autumn drieds or on a shelf or table. You can also add a rusty wire to make it into a parade lantern that will hang from a hook and we will be happy to include a piece in your box if you message us before we ship to you if you wish to drill holes in the sides and add that on too. If you love extreme primitives you will love these and may want to collect more than one. We only make a limited few of these each year and they usually sell out quick. :) From a very clean smoke free homestead so never any allergies or other apologies here with us. Please message us with any questions you have prior to bidding or buying. All of our sales are final with items as described. We don't accept returns or give refunds just as your local antique shops or malls or show venues don't either. Fast shipping once your payment clears. Thanks for visiting our sales here on eBay where we have enjoyed doing business with many buyers who become good friends for over 18 years now. Many Blessings! :)
