Press Photo Pilot Max Conrad Completes Flight from Mexico City to Washington Flies from Mexico Nonstop to Washington--Washington, D.C., Aug. 15--Max Conrad, 47, today completed what is believed to be the first non-stop small plane flight between Mexico City and Washington. It required 19 hours and five minutes. Conrad flew the 2,075 miles in a four-passenger Piper Pacer. The plane used 130 gallons of gasoline. There was enough gas for six hours flight left when Conrad landed at National Airport. Conrad, who lives at Minneapolis, previously had flown the Atlantic both ways in a Piper plane.
