It has a blooming season that lasts from Spring to Summer, grows best in full sun in rich, moist, well-drained soils, and will grow between 1.5 – 2 feet tall. These plants prefer an evenly moist soil but can tolerate drought. It will attract numerous pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. These make great cut flowers and do well in borders in the garden. Cutting tip: cut when the buds develop color and hold the stem tips in boiling water for about 20 seconds. You can also sear the cut end of the stem or pick them in the evening as the buds lift upward and then plunge up to their buds in hot water to soak overnight. All of these methods will allow you to have a short-lived, beautiful cut flower.
