Description: This is a nice chip from the 1980s with H&C mold, and makes a great addition to any casino chip collection. Pioneer Club Las Vegas was a casino that first opened its doors in 1942, situated in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, at 25 East Fremont Street. The casino closed in 1995, coinciding with the completion of the Fremont Street Experience. The Pioneer Club was housed in a structure built in 1918. Initially, this building functioned as a restaurant. The casino and its cocktail lounge began operations in April 1942, positioned at the intersection of 1st Street and Fremont Street. In 1965, the Pioneer Club acquired The Elwell Hotel, which was located at 200 South First St., just behind the casino. They renamed it the Pioneer Club Hotel. This hotel was sold in 1969 and subsequently became known as the Golden Hotel. In 1983, the Pioneer Club expanded its casino area by purchasing Club Bingo, situated to its west. The establishment was referred to as the New Pioneer Club from 1956 to 1967. In 1984, the Golden Nugget purchased the hotel, demolished it, and constructed a parking garage for its casino and hotel on the site. For many years, the Pioneer Club was a prominent fixture among the casinos in downtown Las Vegas.
