Description: Philippines pre-Commonwealth issues, Feb. 15,1935, FDC, first day covers (n=11) with Scott #383-393 (n=11) stamps. FDCs show purple rubber stamped cachets (see scans) posted by MANILA, P. I. FEB 15, 1935, machine "MANILA / TRADE CENTER / OF THE / PACIFIC" slogan cancels, addressed to Mr. Jno. Broughton, Arlington, N.J. The Scott #400 & #401 covers were sent Registered mail and show U. S. / W. E. S. / CUSTOMS and other routing markings. Backs of lower denomination covers are without any back markings and show transfer of machine canceling ink to back sides. The Scott #391-393 issues were all posted REGISTERED mail with routing markings on back sides. Most of the covers have creased/damaged covers and some edge wear that should be evident in the scans.
