Patssy Higuchi is a Peruvian visual artist who reflects on the female body as a symbolic space through painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, collage, and embroidery. In 1989, she entered the National School of Fine Arts of Peru, specializing in drawing and painting, graduating in 1994. From 1993 to 1999, she co-directed, along with Cuban artist Alexis García, Cauri Taller de Gráfica Experimental in Lima, a screen printing workshop where they produced works by various artists. She was an invited artist at the Taller Experimental de Gráfica in Havana from 2000 to 2002, where she learned traditional printmaking techniques in 2007. Her work reflects on the female body as a symbolic space for identity, gender, motherhood, and sexuality. Her art explores rites of passage through patterns, styles, and roles assigned to women at different stages of life, with a recurring focus on themes of womanhood. De 1993 a 1999 dirige en Lima, junto con el artista cubano Alexis García, Cauri Taller de Gráfica Experimental, un taller de serigrafía donde editan las obras de varios artistas. Fue artista invitada en el Taller Experimental de Gráfica de La Habana, del 2000 al 2002, y en el año 2007, ahí aprende técnicas tradicionales de grabado. Con su obra reflexiona sobre el cuerpo femenino como espacio simbólico de la identidad, el género, la maternidad y la sexualidad. Ritos de pasaje a través de patrones, estilo y roles asignados a la mujer en sus diversas edades. Etapas vitales atraviesan su obra, la maternidad, En su obra es recurrente el tema de la mujer. Además, es de su madre de quien aprende el arte de la cerámica, el coser, el tejer y el bordar.
