Pair of Vintage/Antique Heavy Weight Pewter or Silver Candle Sticks

Description: ~Hello and welcome~ I usually list items that have been handmade by me...however, now and again, I will list items that have been purchased or inherited by me. The items are from my own collection and items that I may have inherited from a relative or that I purchased on my many trips to New England. I will describe the items with as much detail as I can. This listing is for a set of two pewter or silver candle holders. I am just not sure if they are pewter or silver plated. They are heavy in weight, but not knowing anything about pewter, I am not sure what that means! The candle holders are in excellent condition structurally. I have tried to add adequate pictures of the bases which seem to have a bit of pitting. It is on the bases only and not the other parts of the holders. In just doing a tiny bit of cleaning...it appears that the pitting marks may disappear with the proper polishing. The candle holders measure about 9-3/4" tall and the bases measure about 4" across. There are no origin markings on the bottom...although it appears that at one time....there were stickers on the bottom. I have NOT tried to polish the holders with anything. I do not know how to clean pewter....if in case, that is what they are made of. I have described the candle holders to the best of my ability....if you should have any questions, please contact me.
