And so, wherever she traveled, she would search the antique & decorative shops for a bird or two that she could bring home & add to her collection. This is a lovely pair of porcelain pheasants from her “bird wardrobe” that she purchased in Copenhagen. We brought them out to use on our Thanksgiving table as symbolic of the Thanksgiving season. As we hope you can tell from our photos, they added a level of liveliness & movement to our table through their autumn coloring & exquisite detail of heads, eyes, feathers & long feather tails. Their expressions are of keenness & involvement with their surroundings. The male pheasant is 18 inches long by 10” high; his female partner is 12.5 inches tall by 8.5 inches tall. We have placed them at each end of our table, surrounding them by flowers & candelabras.
