Description: If you are reading this, that probably means you are considering purchasing a 366 shotshell reloading press. Let me share some information that may help you decide which 366 press to purchase.------------------------------------------------------------------If you buy a used Pacific or Hornady 366 reloading press, expect it to need some work on it before it is ready to use. There are really 3 options to get this work done.1. If you have the time, tools, and mechanical skill, you can perform this work yourself. There are some excellent resources on the web that will help guide you in completing this work.2. Send the press back to Hornady and they will do this work for you. You will be responsible for scheduling the work, shipping the press to them at your expense. They will do all the work necessary, charge you a flat bench fee, charge you for any parts the press needs and at your expense, they will ship the press back to you. You will be charged for the shipping to return the press. 3. Buy a press like this one, where someone has already done this work for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------If you look at the last picture, you can see how I break a press down for overhaul. This is the only way to adequately clean up the old lubricants, remove any reloading residue (shot, powder, carbon) that has accumulated over the life of the press. I wash everything in mineral spirits to clean them. Then I start inspecting each part and if I find damage, wear, or an incorrect part, I replace it. On this press there are over $150 new parts on it. Then I start reassembling the press, properly using the correct lubes that will insure good service. I flush and repack the bearings after checking for lack of damage to the rollers. I set the timing of the advance feature. I set the dies, but depending on the hulls you will be loading, stations:2. Prime4. Wad seating6. Crimp start7. Crimp8. Taper crimpwill require minor adjustments for the stack height of your selected load and hulls you use. The manual provides excellent directions on how to adjust these.-------------------------------------------------------------------I have made text comments on the pictures, but THE BLACK STAND THE PRESS IS MOUNTED TO. AND THE PRESS LIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE DIE CASTING ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE OF THIS PRESS. THEY WERE USED TO ALLOW FOR BETTER PICTURES.I will include a 1 1/8 oz shot bushing and a 468 powder bushing. The primer feed tray and tube shown in the pictures are also included. I will package the press in a heavy weight box with adequate internal packaging to allow for safe transit to you. These are awkward to ship due to the weight and pieces. Inadequate packaging will result in damage to the press during movement by the carrier.--------------------------------------------------------------------Repeating, you are not buying the Inline Fabrication black stand the press is mounted to currently, or the Inline Fabrication LED press light shown in the pictures. Just wanting to make sure this is crystal clear.--------------------------------------------------------------------Good luck and hopefully this information is useful to you in picking the correct press.
