Description: Ossur Unloader One Black Knee Brace right medial W/ Extra Liners, Straps & and pads UNLOADER® ONE INDICATION FOR USE: Mild to Severe Unicompartmental Osteoarthritis Unicompartmental knee conditions that require load reduction to affected compartment such as: Articular cartilage defect repair Meniscal cartilage repair Normal activities of daily living Circumference limitation thigh cumferences smaller than 13.5" (343 cm) or bigger than 29" (73.5cm). Calf circumferences smaller than 10" (25 cm) or larger than 24" (61.5cm). CAUTION: For patients with peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy, and sensitive skin, close physician supervision is recommended. The Unloader® One pain relief device is field adaptable to accommodate patient comfort issues. Modifications to flexion or extension stops and shell contour should only be made by the health care professional. The healthcare professional is responsible for advising patient on use of the Dynamic Force Control System system. NOTE: Have patient wear brace for a few minutes to make sure straps are at comfortable tension. DONNING BRACE 1. Align brace on patient's leg with center of hinge at mid patella and midline of a / p plane (Figure 1). 2. With both Quick Fit Buckles open - place button of lower Quick Fit Buckle into appropriate keyhole above buckle-stability pin (Figure 2) and close carefully (Figure 3). The button is now color matched with an identical blue color swatch in the keyhole for intuitive strap 3. 4. Bend knee to an 80° angle - foot flat on floor. Place button of upper Quick Fit Buckle into appropriate keyhole (yellow) and close carefully. 5. Tighten Dynamic Force Control System to a prescribed position (Figure 4): Practitioner will need to determine optimum unloading based on patient's pain relief feedback but initial setting is recommended at 5. 6. Fully extend leg in a sitting position and make sure that brace is still aligned correctly on leg. 7• Ensure strap pad is not wrinkled and is positioned under strap crossing in popliteal. Quick Fit Buckles may have to be opened to relieve strap tension and allow positioning of strap pad on non-ratcheted DFS strap (Figure 13). 8. If patient requires more or less unloading, adjust the tension of upper DFS strap accordingly with Dynamic Force Control System and/or lower DFS strap by adjusting length at thigh Quick Fit Buckle. If Dynamic Force Control System has been pulled to its maximum and patient requires more pain relief, DFS straps need to be shortened accordingly on lower Quick Fit Buckle.
