Description: For sale is a one of a kind production artwork used to create the final mock-up design for the entrance sign to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Tokyo Disneyland. The artwork consists of graphite pencil with prints of the original Marc Davis concept art drawings that were used on the final sign. The artwork is professionally framed with UV resistant museum glass and measures 25”x16”. This artwork was produced in the late 70's/early 80's (prior to the opening of Tokyo Disneyland in 1983). This vintage artwork comes from the estate of former Imagineer and Disney artist Dave Abrahams. He worked on many large Disney projects from the 1970’s to the 1990’s including projects in Epcot Center, Tokyo Disneyland, and Euro Disneyland. Pre-production Disney park artwork is extremely rare as most of it was either thrown away or kept in the Disney Archives.
