Description: For to be sold is a double leaf (showing both sides) from an Old Church Slavonic printed Psaltir book, (it seems to be not common Psaltir for the simple people, but the book for the Priest, but not 100% sure) dating to the end of the 17th century, on heavy laid paper. It is a very beautiful calligraphic printing in the Cyrillic alphabet of the Old Church Slavonic language in black ink with red rubricating. The somewhat crude type of the printed letters in this page is clearly older than the dated Old Church Slavonic (or Russian Orthodox) Bible texts of the early 18th century. In trying to reproduce the red illumination in handwritten manuscripts, the page was first printed using black ink, and then later the letters and words with red ink were printed. Size of sheet is 13.0 in. x 8,5 in . This sheet shows stain and discoloration due to its age and use over the centuries.
