She attended Washington University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 1962. In 1976 she trained in printmaking under John Weller, as well as photography and photo-intaglio. She graduated in 1982. She made works in various techniques, including tempera, pencil, pen-and-ink and acrylics.
