Description: 1923 Bromoil transfer print "Express Leaving Vienna Station" by author and photographer Alexander Niklitschek (1892-1953). This technique which was used extensively by this photographer render impressionistic images as is seen here. Niklitschek was the author of several books on botany, mathematics, physics and astronomy, also wrote "Das Buch von der Eisenbahn" (The Book of the Railroad) published in Vienna in 1923 with 23 illustrations by the author undoubtably including this image. It was also found in his article "Artistic Railroad Photography" found in "American Photography Vol. 18 Jan-Dec 1924" on page 21. The image is printed on a 9.5" by 11.25" board and measures 8 7/8" by 6 3/8". It is signed and dated in pencil below the image and the title can be found written on the back.
