Description: OPAL SOLID - DARK CRYSTAL OVAL SHAPE - 8x6x3mm - 1.4CTS MATERIAL FROM MINTABIE A very appealing stone ideal for a ring or pendant. The colour travels through the stone. The top has been cut with a medium cabochon, the back is flat. Colour play is flagstone featuring predominantly bright/deep blue complimented with patches of green. There is a rolling flash of electric blue when rotated. This stone is rated by me as N2/3 in body tone - using the Opal Association Base Body Tone Guide as reference and brightness of around B4. The 'crystal' classification of transparency is in line with industry guidelines. Total weight is 1.4cts. The attached photos form an integral part of the description. Please note that the attached photos were taken by a Samsung Galaxy S8 mobile phone in natural light or under an LED table lamp. Apart from cropping they have not been enhanced in any way. I am a private seller who was involved in the mining of opal material from the Mintabie, Coober Pedy and Lambina fields for more than 30 years.
