Description: About this Item: This is a high quality vintage interior passage mortise lock manufactured circa 1900-1940. The simple, classic style will compliment homes of any architectural genre. Faceplate is solid 1/8" brass. The interior of the case is inscribed 045 and 2 3/4. The exterior has no markings. Reversible (can be used for right or left swing door) I will include new brass #8 x 1" wood screws. All you need is a screwdriver and you are ready to install! Restoration: Interior of lock has been brushed out to remove any debris or surface rust. An industrial, high quality lubricant has been applied to the interior to ensure the lock works smoothly. The faceplate has been polished to remove most significant flaws. Faceplate was sprayed with a high gloss polyurthane to prevent tarnishing. The poly has developed a nice rich patina. The faceplate and finish will have some minor abrasions and flaws in keeping with the vintage nature of the lock. The interior and exterior of the mortise case has some missing black paint but of course this won't be visible when the lock is installed in your door. I confirmed that the lock is fully functional. Dimensions: Faceplate measure 3 3/8" tall by 7/8" wide. Box is 3 3/16" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 1 5/8" top to bottom. Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 11/16". NOTE: Note, the lock you will receive is not necessarily the one shown in the attached photos. As this auction began, I had a bunch of these and I took photos of one. The lock you receive will be the same as the one shown, although it will likely have a few more 'bumps'/scratches on the faceplate. I will ship the prettiest ones first.
