Old Wedding Photo Bride & Groom & Rev. William E. Harner Shoemakersville, PA

Description: Here is an old wedding photo featuring the bride, groom and the minister standing at the altar of the church. The photographer was Ray J. Kauffman of Hamburg, PA, so we are guessing the wedding took place in that area. There is a label on the back of the photo that reads: Rev. William E. Harner United Church of Christ, Officiant. Someone added Shoemakersville, PA in ink on the label. I did some research and found that the Rev. William E. Harner was ordained in 1956 in his home church of Zion's UCC in Pottstown, PA. He then was called to serve the Reformed Church in Shoemakersville, PA. Shoemakersville is close to Hamburg, so again, we are guessing that this is probably the church the wedding took place in. After Shoemakersville, Rev. Harner served a church in Bethlehem, PA, which is farther away from Hamburg. He retired in 1991 from St. Paul's UCC in Amityville, PA. Unfortunately, the couple in the photo are not identified, and there is no date on the photo. The photo is nice and clear, with very little wear from age or storage. Great old photo, a fun research project to try to figure out who the bride and groom are. Postage will be 4.75 to the U. S. IF OUTSIDE THE U.
