Description: â„–Kalen 1292 "Winter Silence" is an evocative oil painting that encapsulates the hushed, serene atmosphere of a winter landscape. Through the use of the impasto technique, the artist has layered the paint thickly, creating a textured surface that captures the essence of a snow-covered environment and the stillness that accompanies it. The scene is set in a tranquil forest clearing, where a small, warmly lit cottage provides a focal point amidst the winter's expanse. The cottage, painted in rich ochres and browns, contrasts with the cool whites and soft lavenders of the surrounding snow, hinting at the cozy refuge it offers from the cold. Bare trees stand sentinel around the clearing, their trunks and branches rendered in a palette of grays, dark purples, and muted earth tones. The heavy application of paint gives these trees a robust, almost sculptural quality, enhancing the sense of quiet strength that trees often exude in the dormant season. The ground is a patchwork of whites and blues, with the artist using sweeping strokes to mimic the gentle undulations of snow drifts and the subtle shadows they cast. These strokes convey the softness of the snow's surface and the silent, insulating quality it imparts to the landscape. The sky above is a muted blend of cream, pink, and pale blue, streaked with delicate brushwork that suggests the quiet glow of a winter sky, possibly the fleeting light of dusk or dawn. This softness in the sky contrasts with the crispness of the snowy earth, providing a sense of balance and calm. In the foreground, the snow is disturbed by a few subtle marks, perhaps the remnants of a path or the tracks of woodland creatures, adding a narrative element to the scene and suggesting the presence of life even in the depth of winter. "Winter Silence" speaks to the viewer of the beauty and peace that can be found in the coldest season. The painting invites contemplation, offering a window into a world where the hustle and bustle are hushed, and nature's quiet majesty takes center stage. *** ABOUT THIS PAINTING **** TITLE: "Winter silence"* ARTISTS: Oksana Kalenyuk* SIZE: 15x20 cm/'5.90x7.87 inches' * MEDIUM: oil, cardboard on canvas* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection* CONDITION: Photos provide accurate information about the product.
