Gilberto Cerón was born on November 17, 1956 in Girardot, Cundinamarca, but most of his life has passed between Bogotá and Cali. From a very young age, not only he, but also his parents, realized his aptitudes and interests towards plastic arts, which would mark the course of his life. At the beginning of the seventies, at the age of 15, he entered the workshop of Master David Manzur, which contributed decisively to the development of his pictorial world. Already in 1978 at the early age of 22 and after working 4 in the workshop, he made his first individual exhibition in Bogotá. From then on he has carried out a prolific and varied work with more than 24 collective exhibitions, 20 individual ones, 5 theatrical works, 10 publications in print media, 5 national and 1 international distinctions.
