I had to do some homework to understand the difference between the two models (the movie one and this one). It's a fascinating story how Valterra got into the skateboard business (they made RV's and sheet metal?) when Madrid was already a well-know company producing boards for the pros since the 70s. Long story longer (from what I understand) Madrid was a pro skate company so they manufactured the one for the movie because it would be ridden by Per Welinder as MJF's stunt-double. He wasn't going to ride a board made by an RV company. The board from the movie is the original prototype and the one that was reissued in 2020. All the Madrid x Valterra reissues are modern 21st century skateboards. The model in this listing was the original production model manufactured in the 1980's. This model (blue paint splatter with purple shadow) is GENUINE VINTAGE. If you apply the Madrid stickers then it would be hybrid since it would have elements from the original prototype and production model. Got some intel that they did production models for both graphics but I have no idea. I'm just an old skater not a museum curator. This was my first skateboard when I was 10. Not this specimen but like so many kids of our gen, this was the one that started it all. Now nearly 40 years later I still skate (slower and lower!) but love it as much as ever. SHIPPING: Packed well for safe shipping FedEx expedited (USA: 50 states plus territories and military) with signature required. International buyers welcome: message for quote.
