Description: This is an original an OEM GM high performance cylinder head for Small Block Chevy engines. The casting number on is 3782461 "X". This cylinder is known as an "X" due to the "X" cast onthe deck surface area od the head below the cooling port as shown. The 461X heads were used on 1961-1963 high performance applications of 300HP and higher only. This casting is known as a “camel hump” or “camel back” head due to the double humps cast into the ends of the head. The camel hump heads were reserved for the higher performance Small Block Chevy engines.Please confirm your specific application. This is a real deal single 3782461"X" cylinder head. The casting date is E 11 2 which decodes as May 11th, 1962. This head came off of an engine that had a failure on the other bank and damaged the matching head. This head has been cleaned and checked for cracks with none found. It is guaranteed to be a crack free rebuildable core. This head has had performance work done to it including porting, the addition of screw in rocker studs and guide plates and more as shown in the pictures. If you have a mate to this head that can be matched to it than this head is quite a find. If youare looking for a pair than this head gets you half way there.
