This is the rear aluminum locknut cap which threads directly into the headstock casting and seal the bearings. Before installation the felt ring is placed into the locknut and the retaining ring is pressed over to keep it in place. Excellent condition. Threads intact. Parts drawing, catalog, and headstock casting are shown for reference only.
