Description: Boxed Elrathia Kingii This listing is for a single specimen of Elrathia Kingii Trilobite in a box with a 4x magnifying lid from the Wheeler formation of the USA, on what was then part of the prehistoric continent of Laurentia. The Cambrian period was when the first multicellular life started to emerge after billions of years when there was nothing but primitive bacteria and algae, and by the mid Cambrian period, complex animals such as this trilobite had evolved and the stage was set for the huge and diverse range of plant and animal life that we know today. Trilobites were some of the first athropods and survived until the Permian-Triassic Extinction Event (also known as 'The Great Dying') of 252 Million years ago, an event that was even more devastating than the one that was later to kill the dinosaurs.
