Description: This auction is for a fabulous LARGE copper cookie cutter made by America's Premiere Coppersmith, Michael Bonne. A name familiar to all who collect copper cutters, and especially those of Martha Stewart cutters, Mr. Bonne was tapped by Martha to hand make the limited edition copper cutters that she offered through her Martha By Mail catalog. Vintage, and highly collectible cutters spawned a frenzy among cookie enthusiasts and Mr. Bonne was commissioned by many cooking and decorating venues, and even Nordstrom's Department Store, to create limited edition cutters for their customers. This NEW UNUSED flatback cutter, "Santa's Sleigh Filled With Presents", is being offered for sale in this auction. This beautiful cutter was made by Mr. Bonne and sold via Old River Road. It is hand stamped "Old River Road" by Mr. Bonne on the handle. Some of the merchants who offered Mr. Bonne's cutters were Old River Road, Williams Sonoma, Circle City Copperworks, The Irresistible Cookie Jar, and Country Living Magazine. Additionally, some collectors were fortunate enough to procure cutters directly from Mr. Bonne, some using molds that were later selected by Martha Stewart for her catalog. Many of Mr. Bonne's cutters have his signature symbol for authenticity, but not all. Each of these handmade cutters are molded from a single sheet of copper in a laborious process of cutting the copper using vintage tools to the shape the flatback and then hand molding and sides around a pattern drawn by Mr. Bonne. They are large and heavy duty and cut or "stamp" the intricate patterns beautifully on dough. The handles and weight of the copper allow bakers to use them on any kind of dough-cookie or bread. In addition to making beautiful cookies or breads, the cutters can be used as decorative items in your home. There are rarely available handmade hanging copper clips by Mr. Bonne that were also available through the defunct catalog. I am liquidating my extensive collection of cutters, Martha cake and candy molds, and pumpkin carving kits due to health and arthritis issues that unfortunately prevent me from baking and crafting as I once did. I am looking forward to passing them on to other baking enthusiasts to enjoy.
