Description: We are offering an antique sword from India called a Nayar or Nair. From what we’ve gathered this is a Temple sword. Blade - 3 inches wide at the crossguard, cobra shaped at the tip. Slight medial ridge. There are 2 triangular plates on each side at the base that are riveted together. The very tip is slightly bent. Hilt - grip is wood. The hanging elongated teardrop shaped noise makers are mostly intact, 2 are missing. In between the stacked plates of the pommels are small round iron balls similar to ball bearing which probably aids in making noise. Blade, crossguard and hilt are tight together.
