Description: This is a complete NAKAMICHI Hi-Fi sound system, consisting of the CP-1 cassette & CD player, R-1 stereo AM/FM receiver, and the S-1A & S-1B Speakers. Each unit has been tested. All drivers of both speakers work; the receiver works including AM and FM tuning, RCA and front aux inputs, headphone and speaker outputs, balance, bass, treble, and volume controls; the cassette player works including Dolby noise reduction, eject, fast forward, play, reverse, rewind, and stop functions. The CD mechanism of the player unit does not work. To compensate, I am including for free with the system a later model SONY Walkman D-EJ756CK portable CD player that has line output; it is working and made in Malaysia. The S-1A speaker has a grille which is covering cosmetic damage to the dust caps of its drivers, as depicted in the photographs. This system was manufactured in 1990 in Taiwan, during the golden age of Nakamichi when the Dragon cassette deck was being manufactured. While also autoreverse, this system is not a Dragon, but neither priced as such. It comes with stereo RCA line cable to connect the cassette player to the receiver, stereo minijack line cable to connect the portable CD player to the receiver, AM antenna for the receiver, and the speaker cables.
