Do NOT purchase a transmission with 50 year old factory shift arms, the aluminum side cover bores are worn and the shift arms wobble around in the bores of the side cover. Loose and wobbly shift arms may leak and possibly lock in gear. DO NOT purchase a transmission without French Locks on the front bearing retainer, there is a good chance the bearing retainer will loosen from throw out bearing vibration, only GM type French Locks on my Transmissions! DO NOT purchase an M22 without a drain plug, you will have no way to effectively remove all of the gear lube including metallic particles that will continue to circulate and eventually lead to premature failure. All transmission cases have the Countershaft bores re-bored using a parallel boring process where the counterbore and the mainshaft are truly parallel.
