It is obviously authentic and shows nice use with excellent patination. It is made from a beautiful piece of Mozarkite chert. This kind of raised patination / mineral deposits is what you want to see on artifacts from this area! It has nice edge work and is quite thin. There is no modern damage. Motley points are Late Archaic to Early Woodland in age, ranging from 2,200 to 3,300 years old.The last picture shows the group as a whole. Keep in mind when buying you will only be getting the point pictured on its own. We took the group photo as a means to save the collection history. COLLECTION HISTORY This collection of farm found artifacts comes from a lady in Southern Morgan Co Missouri. These were found on their farm by herself and her family. A friend of mine ended up with this collection and then sold the entire group to me. The entire group was farm fresh with no purchased items or any alterations or re-chips. The collection was all authentic down to the last piece. There were just over one thousand artifacts in this collection. Most if them were Etley culture artifacts. the material most were made of is Mozarkite which is the state rock of Missouri.
