Mossberg & Sons, of New Haven, CT. Production dates on the 183 series shotguns ranged from 1948 until 1985. We estimate this barrel left the factory in the 1960s. Construction is entirely steel. Length is 24 inches overall. Factory Screw on Choke Tube is .4015 muzzle diameter Modified and so marked, 410M. With the choke tube removed, muzzle is .4165 cylinder bore. Sight is threaded on hexagonal white steel bead front. Finish is brushed surface blued. Chambering is .410 gauge, 2 1/2 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. This barrel will any variant of the model 183 Mossberg shotgun, so long as it is chambered in .410 gauge. That includes modes 183, 183D, 283D(a), 183D-B, 183D-C, 183D-D, 183D-E, 183D-F, 183K, 183K-B, 183K-C, 183T, 184T, 184TY, 283T, 284T, and 284TY.
