Description: Montana Yellowstone Agate, tumble polished stones. These agates are harvested from the Yellowstone river, a vein of the Yellowstone National park, and originate from volcanic activity within that park which occurred some 50 million years ago. These moss agates are unique to the Yellowstone river. Yellowstone agate has a hardness of about 7 on the Moh’s scale, and are great for jewelry or any other lapidary work. These specimens are beautifully polished. Medium/large stones dimensions vary from approximately 1” - 3” per stone (quarter placed for size comparison in some of the photos) 2 pound lot. I have about 30lbs total pictured in the listing. Each 2 pound lot will be a randomized assortment from the stones pictured in the listing.
