Description: Here's a one of a kind historical romance novel revolving around the Confederate submarine, the Hunley, made in Mobile, AL. The author, my grandmother, Kate Tucker Phillips, was a historian and quite knowledgeable of Mobile history and was locally known for her historical writings and novels during the 1940's and 50's. She was especially intrigued with the mystery of the Hunley because there are no surviving details concerning the construction of the submarine although she collected every scrap of information related to it. Her son, Dr. Sidney Phillips Jr., said, "We know like a dirigible, this story is part solid frame and part fabrication, but where she over-lapped the parts and riveted them together we do not know." As we know, romance always spices up a story so that's where Kate takes us as we learn a little history too! The book is 176 pages that measure 8" x 5.5" each. We have a couple hundred copies available. Please contact us for shipping prices for multiple copies.
