Description: Beautiful miniature .925 (sterling) silver bas relief reproduction of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Christ Child from the painting, “Madonna of the Chair” (“Madonna della Sedia” or "Madonna della Seggiola") by Italian Renaissance artist Raphael (1483-1520). Frame appears to be plastic and is approximately 2 1/16" x 2 13/16”. Bas relief appears to be signed “I. Romini” in the lower right corner and there are hallmarks along the lower left side (please see photos). The Blessed Virgin Mary’s halo on the bas relief plaque is gold colored and appears to be painted on the underlying material. Made in Italy. Label on the back reads, “Paulo Romini / Certificate of Guarantee (or Warranty or Assurance) / Bas Relief in .925 (sterling) Silver / Decorated by Hand.” Age of miniature plaque is unknown, but it may be vintage. Textured paperboard backing appears to be in good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as discoloration, stains, nicks, and wear along the corners and edges. The top of the paperboard backing also appears to be separating from the frame. The label on the back appears to be in very good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as discoloration, stains, and wear along the corners and edges.
